Aah, so it'd been a knockout. She had to chuckle even if she did feel a pang of sympathy for the iron-clad hero."Yeah? Sweet! I guess I'll have to make more excuses to come into the city then." Free coffee drinks. No one in their right mind would pass that up. "Oh, this? I'm glad you asked. It's called sin." Also known as a pumpkin spice latte and a caramel cocoa cluster frappuccino. Rhia actually had a hot chocolate downstairs while she waited out the drama going on upstairs.Rhiannon wanted to ask about the fate of the car but Eva segued into another subject entirely. H'boy. Conlan. Of course, it'd be Conlan. She suppressed the urge to roll her eyes - barely. "Yenta. I was wondering when you'd show up!"
"You are the Oracle. You carry all the knowledge." Partially in part that Zap could talk technology and partially because Fable told her everything. No really. E-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. Love/romance stuff included, even if it made the pseudo-fairy internally groan every time it was brought up. No one was more disappointed in her lack of success in this department than she was."He's amazing, y'know. And loves him some Batgirl, just sayin'." Rhia snorted and yanked her own drink from its holder with one hand while keeping the cardboard carrier steady with the other. "I like Conlan," sip, sigh, "it's not about him, it's about me and my unrealistic expectations." Reading all those books and playing all of those video games did have a downside."Yeah, let's do some book-browsin'." Or book-buying as would likely be the case. She could not go into a bookstore and come out empty-handed.
This time, Rhiannon rolled her eyes at the word 'perfection'. "I'm not looking for 'perfect'," insisted the ginger, "I want excitement. I want someone to sweep me off my feet and make me feel wanted." This is where their conversation was put briefly on pause while Zap went about getting her reimbursed for the coffees. She stowed the gift card away in the messenger bag hanging at her side but she didn't leave the kiosk until she placed a five in the tip jar. "Will do," she piped up and smiled at the manager as they began walking away.Free Starbucks whenever she wanted? Sweetness."You're a book-tease," Fable accused the elecrokine playfully, "you can't dangle a carrot in front of a horse and snatch it away like that; it's just cruel. Besides, maybe I can find a book to help me out of this quandary."
"We're still hanging out," Rhia confided even though Eva probably (most definitely) knew that they were. The thing was that they rarely were left together alone-alone. In fact, she couldn't think of a time when they hadn't been within earshot of one of her roomies or Morgan. The Creeper had even taken to hijacking their private text conversations. She was sure it was well-meaning but damn if it didn't make things weird. There was also one other thing that bothered her about this particular match. "I'm not going to lie, Conlan sniffing around Qiana didn't do him any favors but I am giving it a chance. We're just keeping things friendly - for now."
Fable let outside a sigh when she plopped her butt down on the passenger seat. "Yeah, Conlan told me," about Tress and Mandrake making a love connection - after confessing he'd been hoping to start something with 'Rapunzel'. "I'm not mad about it. I mean, how can I? We're not together but it's a bit disheartening to know he was ready to cast me to the side so quickly." Somebody better came along. Qiana was a cutie - more than a cutie really - a hottie. (Rhiannon wasn't blind.) Not only that she had nerdy credentials to rival even her own. What was not to like? "I get why," sigh, "it just sucks is all."Zap was right. She needed to sit down with the animator and talk - far, far away from the prying ears and eyes others. Set things straight. "We've touched on it," her orientation, "I don't think he totally 'got it' though." Demisexuality wasn't exactly common but it wasn't like she chose the demi-life; the demi-life chose her. She leaned back against the headrest, eyes closed for a moment and opened them again, she smiled and glanced over at her friend backtracking, "Maybe we could pull a Freaky Friday. Instead of switching bodies, we could switch orientations."
