As Bobby spoke, Piotr relaxed a little, picturing the setting at the diner in his mind, and not really feeling as if he had any reason to be considering it too much. The beginnings of the statement sounded innocent enough, just lunch, or breakfast, or whatever it was at the diner, and Pete went on by taking one game cartridge out, moving to replace it with the other. Mario Kart was successfully latched in, but in the midst of Bobby's second statement, the plastic of the Super Mario RPG game shattered.
It had been an accident, a reflexive action to the words, but Piotr's expression as he stood and turned showed he wasn't worrying about it at the moment, aiming a livid glare in the direction of his friend. It took him a moment to speak, obviously putting effort into it so there was no shouting, but the tense anger was there. "Bobby, you're my best friend so I'm going to say this once. Only once. What you say to Kitty, or do with Kitty, or whatever sort of relationship you have with her is your business. But the moment you start disrespecting her by talking like that, especially to me, you'll regret it." There was a purposeful pause before he finished. "Understood?"
