The team members who has gone to Chicago for the weekend to stop any possible interference that might happen during the elections, returned to New York a few minutes ago. Fortunately, no fighting occurred but nevertheless, the X-Men felt defeated. Graydon Creed, with his anti-mutant platform had won the election. Kurt had tried not to take it personally. Sure, he was upset and worried about what future actions Creed might take against mutants, but he reminded himself that there wasn't anything he could do. He was powerless in this instance to change anything, and so he trusted that somehow there was a Greater Plan. Ultimately, God was in control. Trials were always difficult while going through them, but they could be used as tests of faith. Kurt had to believe that in the end, goodness would prevail. Awful things have occurred before in history, but the wicked were punished, even though it might take a while.
'And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation works patience, and patience produces character, and character produces hope; and hope putteth not to shame; because the love of God hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Spirit which was given unto us.' Kurt reminded himself of the Bible verse as he made his way through the hall to his room. So preoccupied with his thoughts, that he almost didn't notice Ororo. He smiled as she drew closer.
"Hello, 'Ro. Are you the welcoming committee?" Even when he was feeling down, Kurt could still manage to crack a joke, albeit a lame one. "Scott is still in the hanger, if you're looking for him." He assumed that Ororo came to speak to the Team Leader.
