When Tony said he'd wanted to talk, and that it needed to be in person, Janet could admit that her curiosity was peaked. After all, if it was business they had people to deal with that, and if it was Avengers, well, Steve was the leader. That meant this was personal.
But it was still nice to be on the West Coast for a visit. They'd talked for a while, but it wasn't until Tony dropped the words that he wanted to ask Pepper to marry him that she finally realized exactly why she was here.
She put her fork down and concentrated on what he was saying. Oh God, he was coming to her for advice. She'd spent a huge chunk of this year, including her second wedding anniversary, not speaking to Hank.
She thought admitting that right now would be a shitty idea.
She smiled brightly at him. "I think it's a good idea. She's good for you." She said. "As for how I did it, he asked, and I answered?" She shrugged figuring that wasn't the answer he wanted. "Maybe it's different because I'm younger and my wild days weren't as long, but I do know this that if you love someone you make it work."
