Re: The Hulk vs Rogue; OTA
2011-12-19 02:16 pm UTC (link) Erik had finally been discharged from the hospital, having finally convinced that the listlessness was psychological rather than physical. Now he just had orders to rest and see a shrink to get the depression formally diagnosed. He had more than half a mind to ignore those orders, too - who wouldn't be depressed at being depowered and losing a part of himself?
Not all the depression in the world could keep him gloomy when there was trouble in New York; when the news started to show footage of a woman bursting from the river and wrecking havoc on the Brooklyn Bridge, he had the instant thought that he needed to fly there. No, wait, he couldn't fly any longer, and if he went there and she tossed a car at him, it'd be bad.
But he couldn't just sit here and do nothing. Not when he still had the skill to save some lives, or at least help the paramedics. That, and she was out there wielding the hammer he considered his still, which meant that she still had part of him, which meant that things would get very bad if the weather shifted. Not even Sif or Carol knew Thor as he did; maybe he could get through to him, if he was still in her.
It took longer than he'd liked to get to the bridge, but then he was in the middle of chaos. The paramedics were indeed grateful to have a fearless surgeon helping pull people from the wreckage and get them away from the madness. He couldn't look at what was happening with Rogue as people started showing up and talking her, but when he looked away, he saw the dark line of storm clouds out to sea, felt the wind blow against his face, and heard the boom of thunder.
And then he had to stand up and shout, "Thor! Stop that madness!" Though it was probably a good way to get himself struck down.
