For years privately funded scientists have been working on a virus that would target mutant DNA and eradicate it with two options for distribution. One plan was to market the virus as a cure, something mutants could willingly take to rid themselves of their mutations. This was the least favorable of the two options because it was something mutants could turn down. The second and more favorable of the options was taking the choice away. The virus was odorless, tasteless, and colorless, and would go completely undetected if the right people were assigned to clean up when all was said and done. Within weeks the decision was come to and the virus was released into water supplies the entire world over. No one was the wiser.
One short week ago there was a sudden fire in the sky over Westchester, New York. It was as though the sun had come close enough to touch the earth itself, such was the intensity and the heat. There was a loud piercing scream like that of an eagle, an indescribably brilliant flash of light, and then it was gone. Some said they could swear they saw the shape of a woman in the midst of it all, some saw the shape of what they could only describe as a phoenix. An hour later, unbeknownst to all but those working on the Exodus project, each scientist working to keep a steady stream of the virus in the water and those at the reprogramming facilities died, all of them bursting into sudden flame.
Now the mutants are waking up. Some of them remember nothing, not even their own name. Some remember bits and pieces. The ones you have to look out for are the ones that remember everything.
This game follows the events that took place in "X2" and does not follow movie canon after that.

Doors: Seeking Villains
Some doors should never be opened.
In the dark halls of a Las Vegas hotel, the grotesque and the terrible await. The Big Bad Wolf lurks behind a harmless cottage door. Lucifer schemes to open the Devil’s Gate once more. Voldemort anticipates his opportunity to strike out at a world that thinks itself rid of him at last. Dracula hungers for blood, and the sweet veins of his Mina. Frankenstein toils over a new species of monster.
The villains of fiction await in the Passages Hotel. They’re contained for now to the minds of their hosts, to the doors they inhabit, the worlds they dream of tearing apart. But what will happen when that all changes?
Will you be strong enough to stop them?
