In 2084, Earth has been divided into two superpowers following the devastation of World War III: the United Federation of Britain (UFB) and The Colony. With habitable space at a minimum, the UFB and the Colony struggled for supremacy. Citizens traveled between the two nations via "The Fall", a supermassive gravity elevator which travels through the Earth's core. The UFB also face terrorist attacks from a resistance movement.

Later that same year it was learned that the so-called resistance was not the ones behind the attacks on the UFB. The Chancellor himself was behind them, and he was doing it because he wanted to take over the colony in the name of the UFB. Fortunately one of his own agents was able to stop him and the Fall was destroyed, so for the first time the colony was completely free, but there wasn't a safe way to travel between the two worlds now. So, scientists began working on a new way to travel.

One team thought that teleportation was the key; if they could create a portal they could have a security point at each end for everyone to pass through. That was the idea in the beginning anyway. The Toran was built and the first test was completed on June 15th 2091, and it seemed to be working, but when the people showed up at the other end in the colony they weren't alone. There were people from other dimensions; as it turns out when the portal is turned on it opens not only those two locations, but multiple dimensions.

In order to save grace with the colony the UFB decided on a diplomatic solution for dealing with the newcomers. When they arrived each person was evaluated the ones that the UFB decided were worthy were offered the chance to stay and work for the UFB. Of course there was a hidden downside; once they had made the decision to stay with the UFB their memories of their old lives were wiped and they were given false memories of their lives in this new world. The ones that weren't worthy and the ones who declined the UFB's offer were turned out into No Man's Land to fend for themselves.

Douglas Quaid, the guy who had destroyed the Fall in the first place decided to take things into his own hands. He took over as the leader of the resistance and created his own colony in "No Man's Land", what used to be Dublin, Ireland. He offered sanctuary to the people that the UFB turned out. The people living there have to stay inside the Shopping Mall; the only way someone can go outside is if they are wearing one of the gas masks supplied by the members of the resistance. For now there seems to be peace, but how long can it last when the resources are still so limited? And will the ones with their memories wiped ever remember their old lives?

X-PROJECT: AN X-MEN MOVIEVERSE RPG

Name: MARK SHEPPARD

Date of Birth: August 16, 1985

Powers: Conversion of sound into energy.

Status: X-FORCER - AVAILABLE FOR APPLICATIONS.

Mark Sheppard met the folks at the Snow Valley Memorial Center for Mutant Affairs when an investigation into the disappearances of young mutants led them to his nightclub, Silver. After assisting them discover what happened, he signed on and worked as SV’s receptionist, bringing a rather goofy and flamboyant humor to X-Force. A close call with a demon dimension nearly cost him his life, and in September 2009 he left the Snow Valley offices to better use his talents and contacts with the mutant underground.

X-Project is an X-Men movieverse RPG on Livejournal. Set after X2, we've been running since May 2003 and use a combination of in-character journals and email/IM logs. There's a number of settings for a range of play, whatever your preference, and while we accept new characters we strongly encourage people to adopt one of our orphans.

Check out the Wiki and the advertising community to see what's available. Readers are highly encouraged! If you're looking for X-Men based entertainment, X-Project welcomes you to read along and enjoy the ride!
