Natalia sat down with her cup, taking a long drink from it before she was pushed another folder. She wasn't sure what else she could give her that could tell her anything new, but maybe this was just the final confirmation. What Sharon said made it clear that she knew that Natalia already made her conclusions. She took the folder, setting aside her drink, and then opened it to find the birth certificate inside. The date printed there was 1952, though the month and the date were the same ones she was familiar with. That made her...sixty-one now, turning sixty-two in September. The name printed there was the one she'd seen as well. Natasha Romanoff.
Yes, this was the confirmation she needed. Natalia didn't pursue over whether this was real or not, because deep down she knew it was. All of it. SHIELD officially gave her her past and exposed to her what she had every right to know. Natalia closed the folder quietly after her momentary observation of the slip of paper and then looked up at Sharon with a steady look.
"Is there a reason I'm being told this now?" she asked, her voice even. Natalia didn't really care what the answer might be, because she knew what she needed to know. She did want to know what SHIELD's motives were, however, though she doubted she would be told anything other than what they wanted to tell her. SHIELD was good at secrets, considering how well they kept all this from her and she didn't even have the slightest clue as to what they knew.
