Thread: A New Chapter (Natalia & Sharon)
Characters: Natalia Romanova & Sharon Carter
NPCs: —
Location: Housing Works Bookstore Cafe, NYC
Timeline: July 19, 2014 [backdated]
Description: Confirmations on things suspected and Natalia becomes Natasha.
Rating: PG-13, maybe some minor cursing in Russian
It didn't take Natalia very long to figure out the cryptogram. When she sat down and put her mind to it, she finished in a few hours. The date and place where she was going to meet the person responsible for all these packages. She sent some texts to Bucky to ask him a few questions about something she had a feeling had just as much to do with him as it now did with her. So when the date rolled around for her to meet the person, she already came to the conclusion as to what really happened. Her name was Natasha Romanoff, she was born in the 50s, and Russia, or the Soviet Union at the time, put her on ice until they had the technology needed to turn her into what she was now today. And the scary thing was, all of this somehow made sense and felt right to her. It wasn't like she woke up feeling like she was a person out of time, but she often felt like something wasn't quite right. She wanted to know why SHIELD kept this from her, and also, if it was SHIELD sending her any of this at all. She didn't dare talk to Bucky about this, or even Jim. Not yet. Not until she met the person and could judge for herself. It was stupid, really, but Natalia wasn't so easily taken down. She trained since she was 3 or 4 years old, so she was sure she could handle herself just fine. Or so she hoped. Hubris was likely her downfall. She came to the small shop and walked inside. Dressed for the summer, she wore a pair of comfortable shorts and a nice blouse, though somewhere on her person, hidden very well, were a number of weapons. The bag she had held her gauntlets, the ones she could easily slip on and give whomever she might get into a fight with the shock of their life. That's when she spotted a familiar face. Agent Carter. She recognized her from her working alongside Fury. Sending Sharon there, well, it meant that SHIELD really was behind this. Or so she was meant to believe. She never really spoke with Sharon much, but knew of her. She knew she was a good SHIELD agent, well-respected among her peers, and wicked smart. If she weren't sitting at the exact table specified in the cryptogram, Natalia might have dismissed it SHIELD keeping tabs on her. She ordered a drink and then took a seat as the second hit clicked onto the 12 of the minute she was meant to meet the person at. Natalia smiled as she took a drink, "Good afternoon." |
