Thread: Good Intentions Characters: Kevin Ford and Remy LeBeau NPCs: Frank the Butcher Location: Brooklyn, Kings County, NYC Timeline: Dec 18th [Backdated] Description: Visiting an old friend and bestowing a merry gift. Rating: PG-13
It had been a long time since they'd seen their friend Frank from the butcher shop. Not so much a friend as a guy who'd almost turned his butcher knife on them for being mutants and only stopped because of some smooth talking and later, some pick pocketing on the subway that had led to the return of the man's robbed money that had been stolen by mutant thugs prior to Remy and Kevin's visit to his shop. Since then a lot had happened with mutants in the news and every now and then Remy thought back to Frank and that time he'd first hung out with Kevin and shared secrets. They'd grown closer as friends, had been through worry for one another, like when Kevin had been carted off by the suits and no one was sure if he'd be coming back. When Remy was out on the run as an unregistered mutant with a warrant. Then Kevin had been one of the people Remy had turned to for help with his powers were out of his control during the MRA.
Their bond was something like brothers with Remy being the older brother who more often than not was pestering Kevin, pulling him out of his comfort zone like the time they'd fought zombies in the Danger Room or when they'd sat at a table and played Bullshit in Remy's dorm room with a bottle of whiskey and a deck of cards and talked about how it compared to people and life.
Now that Remy felt his life was getting back on track, his powers back under control and many of his feelings sorted out with a few exceptions, one of them being his real origins, he was realizing that Kevin had been left in peace long enough. It was time to be that annoying big brother again and lovingly drag him out for some one on one time. It just so happened that they ran the risk of angering a very large man with an even larger butcher blade with the gift they brought.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to bring a butcher and owner of a deli shop that sold primo meats a tofu platter for Christmas probably had a death wish. Or their name was Remy LeBeau. He just liked to push buttons. More importantly, Remy liked to keep connections. It wouldn't hurt to remind Frank of the two mutants who'd helped him get his money back all those months before. One never could tell when they'd need help from someone like Frank. Whether Kevin felt the same way, Remy wasn't convinced, but regardless, he made the younger mutant carry the platter of gourmet tofu in through the door to a happy ringing of the bell.
"Lookit dis place, ami. Brings back memories, non?" He smirked at Kevin and nudged him.
