Now it was Severus' turn to realise he would probably look smug for the next very long time. He shook his head. 'You have really gone mad, I'm sure,' he grinned and kissed Remus hard and very loudly before he let go of him. 'You are determined to ruin my bad mood and my bleak life by saying things like that, aren't you?'
Severus laughed. It might be in the middle of the winter, but it didn't feel like it. It felt like the sun was shining and birds was singing and life... life suddenly seemed very, very miraculous. 'Oh they're returned,' Severus said. 'And I'll show you how much when we've been downstairs to eat.' Severus grabbed Remus' hand and pulled him out of bed, throwing a robe at him. 'Now get on with it man, I am hungry, and you are the one who's going to sate that need.'
Remus Lupin was in love with Severus Snape, and apart from the fact that the Dark Lord hadn't killed Harry Potter, Severus couldn't remember having heard anything more unlikely. It didn't, however, make it less wonderful.
