Remus in Hogsmeade
Who: Remus Lupin and open to all in Hogsmeade, and then to Severus Snape
Where: Hogsmeade, near Severus' house
When: Friday, February 8th 1999, late afternoon to evening
Rating: Going to be high
Remus tried to concentrate on his work, but it was nearly impossible and he was afraid he was doing a bad job about rebuilding the wall. He'd remained outside since he'd returned to work after the full moon, not entering Severus' house, eating at the Three Broomsticks if he remembered and going home when he was done for the day. He'd contemplated staying home for a little while, to let them both calm down and get some perspective. But Severus had gone to Manchester, and the note had told Remus to do his job. So he wanted to get this done.
So you can start working inside the house? How should that be better? Remus sighed and rose from his crouch to stretch his back with a low groan. Falling asleep in a chair, no matter how comfortable, was not good for your body. He was getting old and the cold wet weather wasn't improving it.
It was all nothing though compared to the problem of Severus Snape and how to handle it. Remus had no idea what to say or do that wouldn't be rejected or ridiculed. He was perhaps being unfair in that assumption, but he felt he didn't know Severus well enough to find a way that would ... bring them back to at least where they'd been before the picnic. That was all he dared to want, dared to hope for. Because he'd likely thoroughly, through his own thoughlessness and lack of control, destroyed whatever desire Severus might've felt for him. Watching your lover turn into your worst nightmare right in the middle of ... things, was at the very least deeply traumatising.
Severus forgot time too, wanted too, made control impossible... But that didn't matter. It was and always would be Remus' responsibility entirely to make sure he was completely alone and in a safe environment where he couldn't be a threat to anybody else, right before, during and right after the full moon. There was no excuse.
But he had to try.
Staring at Severus' house through the open stabledoor Remus couldn't bear the thought of what Severus would say to him though. Not right now. You knew this would happen at some point, where you care so much his words get power over you, where his derision and disgust actually will hurt and not just be a signal to tease back. Bloody fool!
Perhaps he should go to the Three Broomsticks before and have a drink, get some food, maybe chat a little with Rosmerta? But that would be nothing but him stalling the inevitable. He would have to talk to Severus eventually, even if the owl also had told him in no uncertain terms to stay the hell away from him...
For now, Remus needed food though, and he felt he needed the drink too, so Remus put on his coat and left the stable, going around the house to get to the small street, then started walking slowly towards the Three Broomsticks.
OOC: Anyone who wants to chat at Remus, please reply to the first comment :) The second one is for trying to talk to Severus. Wish him luck :)
