Remus met Severus' eyes, unable to look away from the emotions he saw in the black depths. A black that most of his life had been icy cold when directed at him, and now held more heat and warmth that he'd ever expected. His arms slid around Severus and he had to kiss that smile, taste it leisurely.
"I want what you feel you can give me, and if that is love... I will count myself incredibly lucky and probably be too smug for my own good." Remus kissed his lover again, a mere brush of lips that continued as he whispered "And I would never ask you for anything I wouldn't be able to give to you in return. Including my love. If you want it..." Well, it didn't really matter if Severus wanted it, he had it and could do with it as he pleased. Remus was deliberately going out on a limb, trusting it would be able to carry the weight of his hopes and expectations in concern with Severus. It was far too early, he knew. Far too rushed and with a multitude of unresolved issues that could and would make things very difficult. But Remus had never expected anything in life to be easy, especially not the good things.
