The funny thing about Nowaki was...she did give it all up. Bayard thought he was looking at another spoiled royal brat when she sat at his table. So many nobles and small-time royalty wanted small adventures. A night with a brigand. A hand of cards with men who could slit their throats...but wouldn't out of fear of having some entire royal guard after them until the end of time. Safe dangers.
But Nowaki, she had nothing. When she sat at Bayard's table, she only had what she required to make the bet. Afterward, even though she stole had just won his airship, which he had worked hard in many questionable ways to obtain, he had to feed her...because she didn't have a scrap to eat. All she had, then, was an airship and the ferocity of her heart. And of course, he fell in love with her right away.
