[The edges of his mouth curl up into an almost cruel smirk. He knew he'd touched upon one of her insecurities and coupled with her frustration with his personal views and how she disagreed with them, she was letting her emotions get away from her. Where her temper burned white hot, Zero came back colder, crisper and much crueler.]
Why not? Sometimes you need to just come out and call a spade a spade. I know I'm not the only one upset or wanting to do something. Everyone that these issues have affected want to do something. There's a huge difference between myself and the majority of the prison.
I am one of just a handful here that can actually do something about it.
The defense force is large enough that if something is happening with any of the other species, I'm comfortable enough to trust in the knowledge and training everyone else involved has to handle those situations as they come to them. If I'm needed, I'll help but my weapon doesn't work on humans and I'm not willing to harm someone unless I absolutely have to. I have no experience in the military or police functions, so I put my trust in those that do. Just as they put their trust in me to handle the issues that come up in the facility within the vampires.
It goes both ways, you know. Do you really want people that have no experience, ability or knowledge of vampires answering those calls? If Diva attacks again, do you think there should just be a random group of Defense Force members going out there to deal with it? The Winchester's have dealt with vampires before and Zelman still buried them, you'd be sending others onto a death sentence.
Sitting around a room waiting for 'something' to happen isn't monitoring. In the past you've done exactly the same thing I do every single day here, I just pay a little closer attention to what is actually happening. You have the training. You have the ability. You have the experience. The problem is, you're probably one of the biggest offenders of wasting your potential on things that are so far below your skill level that you act as if you are some fragile being unable to do anything.
You aren't. You never have been.
There's a difference between wanting to do something to prevent things and actually doing so. When you're ready to get out of your guilded tower and play with the big kids again, let me know.
[And with that, he disconnects the communicator from her.]
