[ he opens his mouth, and just as quickly closes it again, his expression shuttering. picks himself up more slowly, and just -- watches. that unguarded hopeful look is gone from his face. he knows what this is. it's happened before.
[ Ryohei isn't alive and well. he's just been arrested again, from further down the line. this version of Ryohei doesn't know him. hasn't experienced the horrors the other version had. probably... won't believe him.
[ he should be talking to Gokudera and Yamamoto; should be explaining that these things happen, should be encouraging them to talk to Sentience if they think he's made some sort of mistake or is, hell, lying maliciously about Lussuria's actions. but instead he just feels very tired, watching Ryohei interact so warmly with the man who raped and murdered and raped him again. it was a long, painful, awkward struggle to get Ryohei to understand what had happened to him before. Ryohei had insisted they were friends, insisted Lussuria wouldn't do something like that to him -- and that was after he already had.
[ how is Suzaku supposed to come up with the right words to convince him now, when none of it's happened yet?
