[Report for Gino]
[Lacking fancy paper, Lacus' report is on a clean sheet of white paper, her neat handwriting marching across the page in straight lines. Having practically been raised in the military, the official nature of the report is clear from the format and language.]
To: Gino Weinberg, Head of the Marina Defense Force Defense Force Headquarters, Sector 1 From: Lacus Clyne, Defense Force Public Relations and Recruitment Re: Events of the evening of Day 78
As you are aware, on the evening of Day 78 I was attacked as I walked through the park. This report will serve as my official statement and description of the event.
The evening was clear and temperate. I was proceeding through the park on my way home, carrying a small bag of groceries. A man appeared in my path whom I recognized as Kefka Palazzo, by his distinctive clown-like clothing and makeup. I greeted him and he replied in kind, and then asked me if I knew what night it was. After three guesses failed to appease him, Kefka stated that I was to find out the penalty for being in his path when he was in a sour mood. He said that I was "privileged" in that he rarely spends so much time on his victims. He next stated that he had another game, and moved to strike me.
Although I ducked out of the way, his strike caused me to stumble. It was then that his hands closed around my throat. He was also pushing, attempting to wrestle me to the ground and putting his weight behind the choke-hold. I kicked him and struck his knee, but that only seemed to increase his anger and determination. I also scratched his hands and arms (the marks should remain, should you need evidence) to no avail. Lightheaded, I fell to the ground. Just before I lost consciousness Kefka began to chuckle, apparently pleased.
As I lost consciousness, unfortunately I am not able to speculate on why he left me alive. I suspect it might have been the approach of Tear, or simply that his whim was satisfied and he need not continue.
Should you require additional information or testimony, I will gladly submit to any such inquiries. However, I feel that I must, in writing, state my preference that any consequences that result for Kefka be guided by fairness and dispensed in the spirit of protecting others, rather than in the heat of revenge.
