Are you kidding? It'll be really useful! There's stuff that's been translated, but think of all the stuff that hasn't been. An' besides, you'd get t'read the original sources, instead of relyin' on a third party. An' not just readin' about battles or a roster of kings... trade documents can tell a lot about a society; what kinda food they ate, type of cloth the had t'import-- an' then you get into what defined each class, 'cause you can judge that from what sorta things were brought in as luxuries. Like, if the upper classes imported cotton from, say, Egypt but all the commoners wore wool, because they raised sheep, that tells you something.
Can also see how advanced they were in technology by seein' how far the caravans went an' whether it went by land or sea or both... [ Babblebabblebabble. ]
