First off, abilities. I'm not really interested in those; I ask incoming members what kind of weapon they want, but the important part is a willingness to help. We have a few people on the team who can't even defend themselves, but they can help by performing dispatch, organizing things, taking care of the HQ -- that sort of thing.
Second off, responsibilities. We patrol regularly, usually for a few hours with one shift every couple of days, alternating. We're also on-call in the event of an emergency nearby us; we get notification if someone is being hurt or suffering, so we can go over there and help them out. Our job is to make it so that this place is safe for people who just want to live their lives without having to worry for their lives. If someone's attacking people, we stop them. That sort of thing.
