[ Making a snack for herself in the kitchen at the house -- a tomato sandwich (you see why Lelouch cooks) -- and some left over vegetables from earlier in the week. Week? Last seven days, then. Beagle is right at her ankle, staring up at her. She looks down at him and sticks out her tongue. ]
No, you can't have it.
[ Then she wanders around the kitchen in a white button down shirt and panties, eating her sandwich. Around a mouthful, she recites, thoughtfully: ]
Like a bird on the wire,
like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.
Like a worm on a hook,
like a knight from some old fashioned book
I have saved all my ribbons for thee.
[ Pauses, trying to remember the words ]
If I, if I have been unkind,
I hope that you can just let it go by.
If I, if I have been untrue
I hope you know it was never to you.
[ Continues munching on the sandwich. ]
((ooc: Poem is "Bird on a Wire" by Leonard Cohen. What, she goes to the library sometimes!))
