[She notes the tone with slight indignation, but it's a feeling that reaches way down into the pit of her stomach rather than showing in her expression. The only reaction she has is to straighten her shoulders as she eyes his clear dislike for her request. She wonders why this affects him so much. Why he allows her to affect him in this manner. When she remembers that night, it's all a blur, a long, strangely pleasant blur. But it should have never happened. She's grateful that the evening hadn't ended in her bringing any further sensitive subject matters to the conversation, but to allow herself to go, quite literally, like she did... is unheard of and, more importantly, alarming. [She trails off, cursing her run-away tongue almost immediately. Does she regret it? She isn't sure. Just the thought of it brings a rush of nervousness to her stomach that spreads until even her limbs feel weak. That feeling, it's not regret. It's something else. Cornelia frowns, the composed expression crumbling under the weight of her uncertainty for a moment. And then she sighs, a hand coming down to hit the table as she straightens up in her chair.]
What do you mean by all of this? What is it that you are trying to accomplish by... by...? [She doesn't finish the sentence, but it hangs in the air with several possible words to complete it. Pursue? Provoke? Mislead? All of which she cannot express at the moment. So she lets him infer what he will instead.]
