[ It is obvious to Carter after his talk with Lain, that something needs to be done. He was aware that there were some other inmates doing something, or at least he assumed, but didn't know who they were. Looking over to his Terminal outfit, one thing was clear... The others may not be fully aware of how dangerous the situation was concerning Lain.
The decision was troubling to him, because of a very simple situation. He could allow the system reset via the others with Lain inside the system, which from his perspective would probably kill her consciousness. Doing so would allow all the blame for the situation to fall on her and he would be clean besides some minor suspicion.
On the other hand, aside from Lain being a valuable tool, he absolutely hated letting a person die without a reason. Sure there were those people back where he came from who couldn't "take" a joke; but even their demise had a purpose.
Terminal was leaning in the direction of letting Lain die; it was after all most adventitious to him. But something inside of him, hated doing that; perhaps even felt guilty. Terminal may be a creep, but he is still a kid and isn't a hardened criminal.
The thinning of the air was the last straw. Regardless of the situation with Lain something had to be done and he knew he couldn't completely leave it in the hands of the others. Sentience needed to be reset externally if any of them were going to survive.
Some of his thoughts were contradictory he knew, and things weren't completely clear to him. Still he was coming to terms with his guilt, and so Carter Wilson begins to put on his Terminal outfit while turning on his communicator to a open channel. ]
This situation is out of hand and time is running short. I am requesting volunteers to find and manually reset Sentience. I don't know if anybody is working on this, but if they are, I want to help in anyway I can. Please contact me if interested or if you have information.
Also, I have some important information concerning Lain. If some of her friends could contact me, I think it would be better for everyone.
