[For a moment, he frowns at her words in thought. She's been living with somebody, well that was nice that she had the company and--
--then dark violet eyes widen as he gets it, as the meaning behind those words hits him. Fingertips tighten almost imperceptibly around her shoulders, and he averts his gaze just slightly, looking down past her cheek.] Oh.
[This is strange. She's told him that she's been here for months, and of course it makes sense that she'd form new connections and bonds; she's Lacus, she would do that anywhere. And it's not surprising that one of those bonds might... but he'd just seen her up on PLANT. They'd just been talking, spending time together like they always did, not hours ago.
It's jarring, more than anything.
He meets her sky blue eyes again, something very sad lurking deep inside his gaze. She seems happy; how could he ever begrudge her that? The corners of his mouth curve upwards in a smile that doesn't carry all the way through the rest of his expression, his eyes betraying him.] Um, I'm... glad for you, then. You seem-- you're happy, so.
