action;
[He manages to keep it together until she's out of the room, but the door barely has time to click shut before panic sets in - ice-cold, like a bucket of water and he's on his feet without really realizing that he left the bed at all. He draws a breath, drags a hand through his hair to find some sort of clarity but it's all coming together now and he can't believe he's doing this.
He can't believe this is happening.
He couldn't believe Lila was happening either, but at least that was a mindblowing, sudden infatuation. This isn't sudden, not in the same way, and although he's far from heads-over-heels in love with Kitty there's always been... something. Ever since he got here there's been something, she's snuck in closer than anyone ever did before and now he's here, in her bedroom. Spending the night. Recovering from a kiss he didn't think he wanted until he got it.
While Kitty's worrying about whether or not this is a mistake on her end, Reid is trying to make up his mind about whether or not he should just leave. It would make things so much easier if he just made up an excuse and slipped back home, but in the end... he doesn't. He can't. It's too late for that and if this really is the great mistake he's starting to suspect it might be, it's just for one night. One night of sleeping next to the one person in Marina he trusts the most. How bad can that possibly be?
So he draws a deep breath, forces himself to relax and just go with it. This is... this is no big deal. It's just a nap on the jet without the jet, he doesn't even need to get undressed at all. Nothing to worry about, and the more he repeats that the less he feels like escaping. Still tense, still nervously fingering his tie (which he should probably take off, at the very least) but it's okay. That bed is still awfully narrow for two grown people, but it's okay. He can do this.
The knock on the door damn near makes him jump out of his skin. He'd rather not think about how he would've reacted if she just walked through it.]
