[She takes a sip of her tea. It seems like the right sort of time to talk about Miranda.] The Alliance...liked to control people. I've mentioned that and they didn't want to risk another war. They ran an experiment on a planet called Miranda. They pumped a chemical through the air vents that was meant to calm the population and prevent aggression. It worked beautifully. Everyone stopped fighting and then they stopped...everything else: working, moving, eating, eventually breathing. An entire planet simply laid down and died with a very small percentage that affected adversely. They became more aggressive to the point that they were nothing but aggression. They became cannibalistic, mutilating monsters. The Alliance had hid Miranda and when we found it...we couldn't let it stay hidden. That was what the war was about.
