[Action - Locked to the other Nunnally and Euphemia]
Characters: Nunnallies, Euphie
Location: Their room
Summary: The nightmare of Nunnally
Usually, Nunnally didn't dream, much, and when she did, it was the typical kind of nonsensical strangeness that just made her shake her head in confusion when she woke. No, that was a lie. She did sometimes have flashbacks to that day in the Imperial Court, the final parade of Emperor Lelouch vi Britannia, the first explosion of FLEIJA, Lelouch's receding back as he left her sobbing on the floor with the Key of Damocles in hand. While they were disconcerting, they left her with nothing more than a heightened heart rate and a sweaty, sticky bed. When this happened, she reminded herself that it was all in the past, her brother and her loved ones under this dome were safe from all of that struggle and war. Any problems that arose here could be dealt with, together.
But now, this was the largest problem they'd dealt with yet. A ravenous vampire, Rido Kuran, was on the lam, and had already claimed one life. She knew Lelouch had taken it upon himself to aid in the search, and that if anyone was going to find him, it would be him.
But something wasn't right. Something felt unsettling. All the lights in the shelter were out. She couldn't see a thing. This was different than her blindness. Somehow, she just knew. There was nothing but confusion on the communicator, Suzaku, Kallen, and Ms. Grants were all looking for Lelouch. She was looking for him as well. She rolled near to the wall, one hand on the controls, the other on the wall, so she knew when a corner was coming. The wall disappeared under her fingers, and she heard voices. She couldn't make any of them out. They echoed with some urgency, and one of the individuals laughed. She turned toward the voices.
Ahead, there was a sickening crunch sound, wet, with the sound of something splattering on the floor. The lights flickered to life. She blinked through her eyes adjusting, and looked down the hall. There were two dark-haired men down there, one dressed in black, the other in white. It had been white. Deep crimson dripped down, onto the floor, streaking all the way down his body. But what was the source? Her eyes followed the blood, all the way up to the faces of the two men, both incredibly pale. Their shaggy, dark, hair seemed to meld from one into the next. Behind it all was visible the source of the blood. From the neck of the man in white, loosed by the fangs of the other. She almost screamed, but her voice caught in her throat. The victim was released, and finally, Nunnally could ascertain his identity. There was no mistaking it. Lelouch. She screamed, then. The final image were the features of Rido Kuran, eyes burning red and blue, framed by thick piles of dark curls.
And she still screamed when her eyes shot open, jerking in bed. She would have sat bolt upright in bed had she the strength in her legs. "Brother!" she shrieked. She was pale and sweating, and looked absolutely terrified.
