[He doesn't stand, but if Suzaku thinks his little speech is scathing he's wrong. Central had much worse meetings. But Komui isn't about to let his irritation get the better of him, even if he did strike precisely that deal with Gino before and he just had to watch one of his people crucified.]
[Because if there's one thing all Central's meetings taught him, it's that sometimes you have to play the system. Gino may have stricken a deal to arm them in exchange for handling the Noah, but Gino is gone. And although most of the Exorcists can't have their weapons removed at all, Lavi and the General will still need theirs. Best to try and smooth things over, if he can.]
Please, sit down. I don't mean to come across as though we're not willing to work with you. It's just that this is something we are used to doing alone, back home. It's a highly secretive organization. But we're not home now, and I know that. I'm only saying this because it's -- well, habit, to just handle things on our own, and because we spend all our time trying to keep others out of our war, for their own safety. And yes, because we don't know who we can trust.
I told you about the experiment I'm doing because I intended to use it to help the Defense Force, not just the Order. I know my word may not count for much, but it's true.
We joined up because we want to protect people from the Noah. That's why the Order exists. The Defense Force gave my people their weapons because of that, and I'm grateful.
My hesitance in wanting the members in my lab isn't because I don't trust your judgment. It's because, back home, that's how it's done, for the safety of everyone. But if I have to change that for you to start to trust us, then... we can work something out. [he is clearly uncomfortable, but he's trying. Inviting people into the lab seems so dangerous and stupid, but he's not sure he can afford to separate from the Defense Force and leave Lavi and the General without their weapons.]
