[Worry still twisting his stomach into knots Aidan waited for Helix to make a move, easily shifting to accomodate the new position once he did and lacing their fingers together. It felt a bit better, just being close like this almost as if he could transfer some strenght and comfort through physical contact alone.
Grip tightening a little on Helix hand, Aidan settled in for the long run. If his suspicions were correct this would be a tough conversation to have, but it was long overdue and it was almost painfully clear that Helix needed to get this out. If he couldn't sleep? If it was so bad that he woke up screaming? Then it needed to come out so they could fight it head on.
He remained silent throughout the disjointed explanation, shoulders stiffening a little once he heard what actually happened to that girl. Maybe he had been wrong, maybe this was the extent of it but something in his gut told him that this was just the start. They were building up to it, that horrible, elusive truth and although Helix wasn't nearly as stone-cold as he made himself out to be, Aidan didn't see him as the kind of person who would be this torn up over someone else's death. Not like this.
There was more. They just had to fight their way to it.]
Helix... [Softly. Encouraging. He wasn't going anywhere.]
