[Helix barely had any reason to trust anyone in this place. Considering how he had to live it was no surprise that it was hard for him to believe in people or give the benefit of the doubt like Aidan. He'd sooner go it alone than risk getting stabbed in the back.
He shut himself away because he knew there was no arguing with Aidan and part of him didn't really want to change his view of it. That was his choice to believe in the DF or people, or be kind and all that. That was just who Aidan was, he understood that and accepted it. But he could never agree and this would just continue to be an argument he didn't want to honestly have.
He was frustrated and tired and he just gave up and went to bed early. He was laying on his side, arms crossed over his chest as he stared at the wall grumpily. Sooner or later he did manage to sleep despite trying to stay awake and it wasn't long before the night-terrors dragged him under.
It started soft, and if Aidan were paying attention he might hear the other boy shift around in his sleep or the jingle of his chain. Then, little noises, grunts, growls, moans...even a whimper or two, arrhythmic and random.
Then... barked half-words or clear, desperate "No"s ]
