[If he could have a superpower, it would probably be telepathy. It's not as cool as moving mountains with your mind, but it would sure come in handy in a million different ways and maybe if he could just project all the fear and uneasiness and want to snuggle up with someone without using words, he could get his point across.
Alas, no super powers have manifested even though he's well through puberty and so he's stuck with a lack of vocabulary and awkward fidgeting. He takes another drink of water, eyes shifting off to the side as he swallows. There may even be a bit of color rising on his cheeks because really, twenty years old and not wanting to sleep alone?
