[She eases into his arms, bit by bit allowing the tension to ebb from her body. His scent remains strong, reminding her of his blood the day before and the sweet taste she wanted to draw so much more from. Even ignoring the scent of the animals, it's his own that fills her mind.
Eyes drifting shut, she doesn't answer. Not right away. The topic isn't light, and even as she searches her own heart she finds her only response somehow lacking. He wants a more clear cut answer than she can provide...maybe more than she'll ever be able to give. Expelling a soft breath, she stares, blankly, at the floor.]
I don't know.
[Honest. She can't sugarcoat something she doesn't understand herself.]
I grew up thinking of Zero as a brother, and believing you thought of me in the same way. I admired Kaname, but never thought anything would come of a fantasy wish. [Certainly not what happened.] Then I found out that we were engaged, but that we were siblings. Yet in world of the night that's okay. Even my parents were like that.
[She doesn't move, tired, still staring at the same spot.]
Is it wrong? Is it right...?
[A short, humorless laugh.]
Acumen says it's wrong.
[But in reality, the relationship people believe them to have is different from how even she thought initially. They aren't even real siblings. She gives a pause, and speaks in order to not give Zero a wrong impression.]
I don't think of you as a sibling, like I once naively did.
