[ truth was, in the past, back when he was human, angel - or liam, rather - had been fairly religious. in his own way, a way his father hadn't necessarily agreed with since it didn't exactly fall in line with the excepted methods of worship for the day. the tattoo on his back served as a constant reminder of the devotion to faith he'd once felt and the mockery he'd made of it when he'd been turned into a vampire and his demonic nature had capitalized upon it and twisted that fondness into something that would get his name in history books for all the wrong reasons. these days, he didn't so much believe has know for certain there was something better and brighter out there. buffy had been to heaven and angel made a living off 'working' for the powers that be. whether they were what people perceived to be 'god' was up in the air, but it was nice knowing something for certain. ]
