Helix felt that incredible, uncomfortable and overwhelming warmth swell in his chest again, his heart beating just a little harder against his sternum. There was just something the way the other talked about getting a place together, the very idea of it was something really endearing. It took all he had not to fluster even more, unable to really shake what sort of steps they were taking.
He shoved the idea out of his head, it wasn't like that. They were friends. Best friends and soon to be roommates. They may have had their fun in the past but, time, and well... before he'd even left both of them had agreed that that was all it was. They were content to be friends and that's all he could ever ask for. Besides... he couldn't really enjoy anything else, not with the demons crowding the inside of his skull from only a few weeks ago.
He didn't really have time to be sentimental anyway, not when Aidan so skillfully looped this entire thing back around to the bed debate. He stared at the other, a little blindsided by the tactic and he couldn't help but stutter slightly. "You--!"
He grumbled, clutching the forgotten fruit in his fingers and pouting ever so slightly. His shoulders slump with a defeated sigh and he growled out a final, "...fine. Whatever."
He took a bite of the fruit and mid-chew added, "Why the hell do you have to be so friggin' stubborn when I'm actually trying to be nice for once?"
