It was a very good thing that neither boy could see into the future. If Acumen hadn't pulled him away from home when it did, Aidan would soon have been pulled into the one adventure he should've done everything to avoid. The one that would eventually tear that innocence of his to pieces, forcing the boy to finally grow up into a man.
But that hadn't happened. Wouldn't happen, at least not to him and so he remained blissfully oblivious to the irony in Helix's statement.
"I know." he replied, plainly, a small shrug tugging at his shoulders. He knew Helix would look after him, there was no doubt about that and besides, considering where they were? The chances of him ending up in a situation that would require any major bloodshed seemed pretty small.
"That ain't important right now anyway." he continued after a brief pause, taking a few hesitant steps towards Helix. "Right now we gotta figure out how we're dealin' with... this. All of it."
