Helix heard the movement and he caught sight of Aidan heading for the door. He froze, heart wrenching in his chest as a look of desperate fear crossed his expression. He didn't mean it and now the other was leaving. He started to move, only taking one step, fruit all but forgotten as he stared at Aidan's back.
He stopped. That question tossed back over his shoulder caught him off guard and he rolled an answer around in his skull. After an uncomfortable stretch of silence he spoke.
"No. No of course I don't want you trapped here, I want you HOME where you can have a normal life." It wasn't the answer the other wanted, he knew that, but it didn't make it any less true.
"... I missed you. I--" He didn't want to be alone, but could he honestly swallow his pride and admit that?
"...I'm not--I didn't say you should leave just that... you could... if you didn't want to stay with me." His voice grew smaller and smaller with each pause.
