There was a length of silence that stretched out after Aidan's passive threat. Helix cast his eyes off dejectedly, tension stiffening his shoulders as the suggestion seemed to cut him to the core. A snarl rippled across his lips as he threw himself up out of the couch and stalked into the kitchen.
"Nothing. Do whatever you want." He barked, pausing to rifle through his basket of goodies and pulling out a fruit of some sort. "You don't have to stay here."
He didn't mean it and just as soon as he'd spat it out he wished he could reach out and catch the words to take them back. But he didn't let it show, and like any child throwing a tantrum, seemed serious. Of course he wanted Aidan around. He thought he'd never see him again so the last thing he wanted was to get rid of him... He was the one person in this whole dome that he could stand to live with.
