[There were other things at work here too of course, things he wasn't willing to admit to Aiden or even himself. To be honest he was a little surprised some of them hadn't come up yet, but he was really very appreciative they weren't mentioned. Part of this tension and nervous aprehension was because of the looming possibility that Aiden may ask...
Afterall, the last time they saw each other things were pretty...intimate. Then, after not seeing each other for so long (at least by Helix's timeline anyway) He wasn't being very warm. Of course, he hadn't really been one to show much affection, it'd taken them a while to get him to where he'd been prior. But it would almost seem like a step backwards, especially now that they were in the private comfort of his own apartment and he still wasn't showing much interest.
He couldn't though. And Aiden would have to settle for that warm embrace on the beach. He did however give the other a small, lopsided smile at the idea that they were finally back together again. He was glad the other was comfortable with his answer and trusted him. He nodded softly.]
Yeah. [But for one reason or another that was really all he was getting from him. He still felt somewhat awkward about all of this, still guilty for the things that happened while they were apart. Things had changed and Aiden really had no idea, but he had no real way to explain it all. He felt like he betrayed his feelings and really didn't deserve to be forgiven so easily.]
