[Moji is all over the shopping district at the crack of dawn, because he's got a lot of catching up to do now that his ball and chain have been removed. His first stop is the clothing store, where he picks up a coat and some replacements for the rumpled, dirty dress shirt and pants in which he arrived.

After heading back to the shelter to change and eat, you can find him in the pet cafe, sitting cross-legged on the floor and absentmindedly petting a rabbit that has come to sit in his lap. He's still not sure about getting a pet, but he's seen how happy they've made other people, and he does need some form of close company. Surely he can allow himself that much.

Find him in either place and say hi, if you like!]

You think so? I thought rabbits were shy, but this one approached me as soon as I sat down. Maybe all the animals here are more domesticated.

It definitely hasn't been dull these past few days. There's so much to learn about this place, so many theories on how it works, and then there's other worlds to learn about... even when your body's doing rote work, your mind is always busy.

[It's what he's been using to chase off his fears about home, his conflicting feelings about being alive at all, and the useless, impotent anger at Acumen for destroying his carefully-made plans. So far, it's been working, if intermittently.]

People who've been here a lot longer than us have told me that they still don't understand most of what goes on here. It's hard to accept, but some of it might just be beyond comprehension.

[His seriousness is just slightly undercut by his bunny friend hopping off of his lap and sitting up (like so) in front of Marie, nose twitching inquisitively. He can't help but crack a little smile.]

I think he wants to say hello.

	Maybe it is. [If that was true, she supposed she could accept that. But that train of thought was quickly halted when she saw the bunny sit up in front of her. That made her chuckle softly. [He can sense a bit of her hesitance, and since she hasn't shown any signs of fear or dislike for the rabbit, he hazards a guess that she's just not too familiar with them.]

He's pretty tame, so I don't think he'd mind if you petted him. He seemed to like it best when I just stroked the top of his head, not his nose or his body. Just move slow, they can be kind of twitchy.

[She may notice the bunny tensing minutely at the first touch, but soon enough he relaxes into it.]

They are, aren't they? [Her innocent wonder is kind of touching, but he carefully chooses to ignore that feeling.] Just like velvet.

[Then he glances around at the other animals, some of which seem to be hovering nearby as though wondering if they should get in on this petting action.] Have you thought about getting a pet?

	It seems like a good time to give it a try. [He reaches out to pet the bunny as well, careful not to bump their hands together.] All the supplies are free, there's information at the library about how to take care of them and a lot more free time than at home... why not, right? 	If you have a friend here, you could always share a pet - switch off nights taking care of it, walk it and play with it together, that sort of thing. Then it wouldn't be such a huge responsibility, but someone would still be taking care of it at all times. [He grins.] Might make it a bit easier, if it's your first time. multiple cats. of different kinds. and they're all crawling across him where he lays, meowing and purring incessantly. somehow, SOMEHOW, he is managing to keep them all decently content despite only having two hands.

Biting isn't nice! [he chastises a fluffball of a siamese kitten that peers at him with grumpy blue eyes, tilting his head back to peer at it. he catches sight of Moji with the action, and offers a wave-- kitten still in hand.]
