[It's not really a surprising outcome but disappointing nonetheless. He can understand it in some way, maybe even agree with it in some cases but is it really necessary to avoid the hell out of each other for the duration of their stay? Which could very well be the rest of their lives?
That's something he can't agree with, not with the way things are now and although their... friendship or acquaintanceship or whatever the hell kind of ship they're on here is strained and weird and awkward it would be so easy to make it less so. Just... civil. Like two people from the same place stuck in prison together - they don't have to be friendly but they should at least be able to be in the same room together.
