A disappearance can last as little as hours and the misplaced party does not suffer, is not aware of their disappearance, and will inevitably be returned given sufficient time. If you are implying that everyone in the facility should be informed of every such error every time it occurs, that would not only create unnecessary "grief", but also unnecessary concern about the operation of this system.
An argument may be made that the information is necessary; but not closure for a temporary difficulty. If an inmate's feelings are hurt because they did not hear it firsthand from this system, that is not my concern. Dispensing this information at all is a privilege, not a right.
