A creation myth. At the beginning of the universe, there were so many stars the sky was crowded with them. And when they decided to make the world, they began whirling and whirling and getting closer and closer together, and some of them condensed into the earth. But then the stars that remained were very far away, and the earth became lonely. So every year to celebrate the new year, the people crowd the sky with lanterns.
