Game-wide HMD/Plotting!
Welcome to the MarinaNova HMD! This is optional, but encouraged.

• List your characters for which you'd like feedback. We have a form below if you like forms!
[Feel free to add 4th Wall characters]

• Leave your tactful and considered thoughts, questions, concerns, praise, suggestions, etc. for others.

We strongly encourage you to make this a dialogue. Find out what went into actions, decisions, and characterization and you may come to understand it better. Hopefully you'll also be in the best position to clearly communicate your own concerns. Results will be more satisfactory for everyone if one person isn't on the offensive while the other is on the defensive.

Avoid leaving someone a wall of text. This can be intimidating even with the most careful of wording and best of intentions.

Don't gang up on someone. You may have a different way of wording something, but unless you have something new to contribute, consider letting it go if there are already others saying it.

Be constructive and considerate.

• Since there is no plotting meme during months with an HMD, please feel free to do that here too.

• Contact a mod if you have any problems.

Anonymous commenting is on. It will be turned off if there is abuse.

pardons for the tl;dr! '''orz

I'm most happy to give some feedback, and do pardon me as I focus on Alone as he's the one I know better in canon between your two blonds. X3;;

I have to say, I truly enjoyed my threads with Hades this 4th Wall and had fun stalking his threads with others. I love how you brought out his being slightly aloof and high-nosed towards the Oneroi -- they are gods in their own right, albeit lesser ones, so that dynamic works very nicely! I also like the contrast he makes with Athena as Hades showed his godly detachment in opposition to her sentimentality, which is the crucial difference between them.

I believe that you were successful in taking everything that canon gives us, as far is Lost Canvas is concerned and not a hair was out of place. I understand the struggle however, as we were not given motivations as far as Hades is concerned. The Hades character in Saint Seiya, sadly, suffers from being two dimensional and underdeveloped (even in the Classic series) and in this case, the burden is therefore on the roleplayer.

I went through the same struggling phase with Sasha in the beginning, in the sense that she was far, far from the Athena known in mythology and she comes off more as Hestia. I then decided that her constant reincarnations allowed her to learn to grow emotionally, and that each human vessel leaves an indelible mark on her soul.

If you're truly going to invest in playing more of Hades then you would have to think about headcanon such as: how did the Holy War start? Did it truly start with Hades or Athena? Why such a fixation on humans and Earth and go beyond the lots drawn by him and his brothers? How do his vessels affect him as a god and why does he insist on the "purest heart/soul" as a vessel? Or maybe he's just one big boss troll to give his overly emotional niece woe and he gives no fucks (yea)!!

tl;dr -- while there are downsides to having an underdeveloped character in your hands, you have free rein on how to interpret what little canon gives us and there's a lot of fun in that! /o/ Otherwise, I hope you have fun in playing Alone/Hades (and, who knows, more StS characters >3~ ) Keep on rockin'!

AC, don't apologize for the big text-- I'm very happy you spared some time to write me all of that! ♥

And first of all, let me begin by saying I am so relieved to hear you had fun and that, despite my struggling, I managed to to a decent work ;; Truth to be told, I was very terrified to have Hades running around saying the same dialogues all over again, like some sort of maniacal parrot, heh. Like you've said before, Alone whether as the italian kid or as the god is a character who's given a couple of lines and some serious underdevelpment. At first I thought it would be easy to handle yet in the middle of threads I realized that having so little canon info to work with, well, I was in deep goo.

That is a fear I tend to have with RP in over all-- I'm afraid of getting creative with headcanon because I could end up unwillingly hurting ICness or creating awful incoherent characterization; but well, I suppose it's all a matter of doing some deep analyzing and letting go of my petty fears. I definitely want to keep on playing with Hades at places like the Saint Seiya DR and so because he very much is an interesting and fun muse to play! And I really adore playing with your StS muses <3

SO, thanks for the comment! I'll keep what you said in mind not only for Hades but for all my RP muses.

/r-rambles right back at you "orz

I'm glad to have been some help! If anything, feel free to approach me at any time if you have questions about StS; and since I play the character who is both the closest but distant to Hades, we can hammer things together! /o/

As long as you're confident and you're firm with regards to your hold on your characters' personality, you can go and run with everything you want. This can also address your quip about Wolfram being "too used" to the prison setting: Marina is not a prison in the strictest sense of the word, and I doubt it matches with the prisons presented in KKM. If anything, I don't see it as Wolfram getting "too used", but him adapting to his environment (dealing with weirdos, dealing with the fact that no one has found a safe way to leave etc.) -- which is crucial for any person's survival. Adapting also allows him to spend his energy for more worthwhile causes than just moping and whining uselessly at something he can't work on right now, and from what I can make out of what I've seen of Wolfram's threads so far, I think he's the type who knows better than to do "unproductive" things. I think you're doing good in that regard, so no need to worry!
