Welcome to the MarinaNova HMD! This is optional, but encouraged.

We strongly encourage you to make this a dialogue. Find out what went into actions, decisions, and characterization and you may come to understand it better. Comments: I worry most about Picard's voice, making sure he's Picard. And Oz, I know he can be less than wordy and sometimes hard to reply to. So I'm working on him giving more and still remaining Oz.

I'm only canon-familiar with TNG up to somewhere in Season 2 at the moment (I really need to get back to that. It makes me beyond happy), but I absolutely love your Picard. I love playing off of him, I love what he and Helen are up to and dancing around, and I have absolutely no trouble hearing his voice when it's not trying to be James, since I'm more familiar with James (which I also find hilarious, since they're a lot alike in some ways). But you have such an intricate knowledge of this character that I'm always so excited to get his tags, to see how he and Helen will interact and respond to each other next. From what little I know, I think you have him down and his voice is brilliant.

Oz is brilliant. I don't remember having trouble replying to him at all, but that might also be Helen sticking her nose into things. I've always been able to hear his voice, so there are no worries about that. And I've only glanced over things with Dawn, but I can always hear her voice, too, and I'm sure you're absolutely brilliant with her as well.

Clearly I need to throw someone at Dawn and Liz at Picard. :3

He's like that one character who's so awesome you can't help worrying over. ~~That's totally me with Chakotay, too.~~ But fear not! I've enjoyed our threads so much and he and Helen are making me ridiculously happy. Except for the current plot making Helen flip tables (which I absolutely love. She needs more upheaval in her life here). So yes, keep on doing whatever it is you're doing ♥

One day I'll actually watch TNG and be able to say something about Picard (I need to toss Reid at him more too, I can't believe I haven't yet). Oz is as always lovely and I adore the thing we've got going with Dawn and Spike right now. She's the canonmate that has influenced him the most since joining the game and that is just so cool to me. More please.

There is however something that I'm wondering about, in regards to Dawn and possibly a little bit Oz as well. It's a little awkward cause I've picked up on it in threads that aren't mine, but I figured I should bring it to your attention either way: it's about their attitude to the Paranormal class. I haven't read the comics so it could be something that changes in later seasons, but Dawn in particular seem a little over-the-top gung ho about not killing supernaturals. What I recall from Buffy there was a lot more "kill it and then kill it some more and maybe then ask some questions" from the protags than there is in SPN and I've been under the impression that although the lectures do handle the disposal of supernaturals, it's not the key feature. Even more so since Sam is pretty clear about that this is supernaturals from his world so your mileage may vary.

I don't know, it's not exactly wrong but maybe a little unbalanced? I'd like to hear what you're thinking with it either way, since it could just be that I'm not seeing the interpretation the same way you do.

I really hadn’t thought she was over-the-top gung ho about not killing Supernaturals, but rather interested in the research and understanding and alternative opinions and ideas and finding out the difference between good and evil since she’s seen so much of both from any spn species. I had intended it more as a dialogue. I will indeed dial it back if it’s coming across as too much.

As far as the series of BtVS I feel like that’s a question the series has asked from the beginning and also evolved into; what is good, what is evil, where do you draw the line between killing it no questions asked and not. Of course if something is trying to destroy the world you wanna stop it. But also the series has proven time and again that sometimes things are not so black and white.

And as for Dawn as a character, I’ve always felt like she was more open minded than the rest of the cast. Whether it was Spike or Clem or Kenny who she dated in college, she’s much more ready to accept that even though they’re demons, they aren’t all evil and they have potential to be good. She even defends her dating of Kenny to her sister, Willow and Xander in the comics. She’s always been all for saving the world in the bigger picture, but she’s also a very reactive person on a case-by-case basis such as the differences between how she reacts to one vampire or another or one demon or another. And that’s one of the things I love about her. It’s how I play her. And that’s my thoughts on the subject? Hope that helps.

For Oz. In the comics, his canon point, he has an entire pack that’s about reform and teaching how not to give into the beast. And he’s very near mastered it. But there are also werewolves who don’t want that and always give in to the monster inside because they make that choice. So he doesn’t like being clumped in with all the werewolves as a whole. And that was his response to the werewolf class in particular. Other than that, he hasn’t really had much interaction with it other than showing up and listening.

There will definitely be backing off though, so thanks for letting me know it was coming across that intensely. ♥

	I loooooove reading your Oz and I haven't had the chance/guts to tag him. You're right; Oz doesn't say much but I think you convey the things he doesn't say/his thoughts and feelings so well. 	I love all your characters. I really like that Dawn and Martha are becoming friends, and I have enjoyed Martha/Oz posts in the past. And I think it's hilarious seeing Mal and Picard together as both are extremely different captains. And Mal doesn't really get the Federation thing yet. It creeps him out. Yeessss all your CR is what I want. Martha and Mal. I really love both characters and every interaction my guys have with them. It will be so interesting especially between Mal and Picard since Mal has never seen a peaceful intergallactic governing faction. How much fun will that be for him to learn that it's possible and mand the turmoil inside over his own history. LOVE! And can't wait. ♥

never ever worry about picard's voice. ever. he's perfect, and i'm grateful you picked him and are keeping hold of him. i hear patrick stewart's voice loud and clear in my head when i read your tags, and the cr you have building with stella's helen reads very naturally and i've been enjoying ~~stalking~~ reading that progression. he's wonderful, and so are you. ♥
