Awesome punishments they give around here. Kidnap and dismantle a robot for my own purposes -- entirely not evil, I assure you -- get sentenced to hard labor of creating three pieces of wall art. Never painted before, to be entirely honest, but luckily I'm good at everything.

[On the video feed are three canvases set up in the Education Center. One looks like he just tossed colors at the canvas (which is entirely accurate). The second... well. Sorry Steve, he literally couldn't resist. And the third is blank.]

Anyone want a caricature done? I'm definitely getting the hang of this. I can't promise it'll be flattering, or look anything like you, but I can promise I'll do a horrible French accent. I'm talking cringe-worthy, here. Takers?

Clearly the wardens have found some worth in it.

[He arched a brow at him, his lips quirked, silently laughing, sir.]

You wouldn't think AIs would be so sadistic. -- Excepting ones I designed. But it was worth the price of admission.

So you enjoyed being punished then?

Kinky as that is, no. I enjoyed what I did that landed me in art class. Much as anyone can enjoy anything in this aquarium.

Is it still called an aquarium if we are the ones being put on display?

Also, what did you even gain by tearing up one of the robots?

That's the definition of an aquarium, I believe. But we don't have wikipedia here so how can I be sure of anything anymore.

To answer your second question: I gained one torn up robot.

Wikipedia? What is a 'wikipedia'?

Let me guess. You're from someplace where the pinnacle of technology is the trebuchet.

Ah, yes, that would about sum it up. The better way to describe me world is might and magic.

I hate magic. It's like just giving any old idiot the power to wreak havoc. What happened to earning your fantastical powers?

Ah, well, considering my Talen is Fire, I might protest that. I was born to them, but it took me many years of effort and training to lear to control and apply it.

That you couldn't control it initially only proves my point. And there's no guarantee when someone's born they won't use their schtick to torture whole boxes of baby kittens.

Well, that is just a horrible image. But can't the same be said of someone with great intelligence or just an uncanny skill for something? Any talent can be bent towards evil, magic or not.

Anyone can turn evil, but it's a lot more likely to do lots of unchecked damage when they haven't had to even attempt to gain the knowledge for themselves. At least if it's based on brains and hard work there's a better chance of someone with equal brains and a functioning conscience being able to blow them out of the sky.

Hmm, but even in the story books, is there not always someone on the other side to balance the power of the evil? One might be strong, but the universe tends to balance itself. Someone else will be able to match. I have my match, in my world, after all.

Using story books is possibly the worst way ever of making a point. But you'd have to be living in one to think the universe is a fair place.

I never said it was fair, only that it was balanced. The two are very different.

[As he should know. His life has been nothing if not 'unfair'.]

[Oh goody, one of those people who thinks mincing words makes a difference.]

Yeah I'm gonna go with "not at all different" and preemptively say I'm not interested in hearing or telling of life stories to compare.

I have a feeling you're not very interested in anyone's voice but your own.
