[Action | Open | Evening]
[The past two days had stressful so Michiru decides to do the one thing that always reliably helps her, playing violin. So as evening arrives she heads out of her apartment and down to the parks around the dome to get some inspiration and play her violin for a bit. As she stands and plays, the melody of her violin drift around]

[ooc: Michiru is out practicing for the fun of it. Feel free to encounter her anywhere and watch her play and talk to her. Sorry to the two people have been waiting so patiently for this post]

[Michiru lowers her violin since her song had just ended. She gives Tear a smile, recognizing her from the last time she had been practicing in the middle of the dome]

It is what I enjoy doing. It is my life back home. It's only natural to keep practicing.

[She nods, but doesn't fully feel quite the same herself; she does enjoy singing and does use it for combat, but never practices anymore than deemed necessary, and she can't see herself using only her voice as her livelihood]

So it is a career, than a passionate hobby.

It can be both. I enjoy it and I make my living off it.

Have you done much singing since we last spoke?

I suppose that would be the most ideal career. [Musingly, before she shifts her weight; mildly awkward]

--Ah, no, I... don't usually... I work on my breathing, and a few exercises, but that's it...

I think it is.

Oh... well, practicing is good. [She notices that the other woman seems like she doesn't want to talk about it so she changes the subject]

How have you been settling in here?

[A quick tilt of her head in faint confusion; it's certainly true she didn't know what to really talk about concerning singing since she thinking nothing of it, but that seemed like an odd question suddenly]

I can live anywhere, and this is essentially the same as the previous facility.

[She had changed the subject since it seemed to her that Tear didn't really some like she wanted to talk about it]

There are difference. But I hope that nothing bad happened for you when everyone was transferred here.

[The only differences to her are superficial ones, and therefore don't count. The base is the same]

Both are pretty and distraction filled containers you can't leave-- the same as I grew up in, but without the pretty and distraction filled part.

[She's surprised at that comment] So... you grew up in a place like this except not as nice?

[She pauses before nodding, but not due to being unwilling to discuss the topic like before. It's just that she's never talked about it before]

That's why I said I would be able to live anywhere. I'm not so ignorant as to think that there aren't worse places, but after living where I did, they would be easier to handle.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's a shame you had to be in a place like that. But at least you are no longer in that place.

That point is debatable.

Which point? That it was a shame you had to be there?

Suffering builds character, they say. [A shrug] It made me who I am.

That is true. If nobody had to suffer, people would not realize a change was needed or become stronger, physically and mentally. However, it can be hoped that nobody had to go through that.

I suppose... that I wouldn't wish it upon anyone else. [Not even someone she was really against. She gives a faint 'heh', totally humorless]

How contradictory people are. In the same moment that we acknowledge it's necessary, we're still hoping it doesn't happen, ever.

There is an extent that we admit that is necessary. That is why each generation tries to make life better for the one that follows them. However, there is a point that we wouldn't want anyone else to experience. Some of what I have seen I wouldn't wish upon others.
