[For now he's happy just to touch him without making it more sexual. There's something enjoyable about such an innocent activity and they're both still marveling over the novelty of him being alive. He never thought it would be possible to be so aware of things like a pulse or breathing.]

Instead he pulls him in for a warm kiss, one that has nothing to do with today's changes and everything to do with how happy little moments like this make him. Banter and touching in the shower isn't something that's ever going to get old for him and today it feels important to make that clear. With all the changes this place always gives them that's one thing that can't be altered.]

In that case let's dry off and I'll make you some coffee. That's a first step you're not getting out of.

That's a dangerous promise to make.

[ He grabs the towel and dries himself off, spending some time ruffling through his wet hair until it's about as dry as it'll get. Normally he'd run some gel through it right about now, but he can't really do that without also coming face to face with a mirror so instead he leaves it the way it is, eyes averted from the bathroom cupboard as he pads into the bedroom for some clean clothes. ]

[Don't think he misses the way he continues to avoid the mirror. There's probably quite a lot to be read into that if he wanted to. Instead he pulls on some clothes and makes his way out the the kitchen and the coffee machine, the first thing he perminently moved in here.]

I remember you mentioning once that you sensed hot and cold differently as a vampire. Are temperatures more extreme today? Or more noticible?

[ What can he say, there's a lot to unpack when it comes to seeing himself. He'll probably work up some courage and take a look before the day ends, but there's no rush. Really, no rush.

Pulling on his usual black jeans and tee, he follows Ianto into the kitchen. ]

I can tell the difference better now, yeah. Everything's... evened out. Can't hear your heartbeats, but I can feel the temperature of the room. [ And then something strikes him. Something he hadn't noticed until just now. ] It's... quiet.

Oh, I don't know. All the things you've done for me have got to be worth at least a day. [More, in his opinion but Spike is the one who will have to convince himself of that. He passes him a mug of coffee, letting their fingers brush together as he hands it over.]

Just so we're clear this is one of those boyfriend situations where you have to lie and tell me you love the coffee I made even if you had it.

Just ask the people in London or Prague or China or Los Angeles or- well, anywhere he's stayed for longer than it took to gas up a car and some days even that was enough time for a quick bite. He doesn't deserve this, but he'll gratefully accept it nonetheless. ]

What, you think this is my first time? [ He can be a good boyfriend. The coffee is hot and he sips it carefully, all too aware of the fact that a scolded mouth would actually ruin his day rather than just the next ten minutes. ]

He glances around as they step outside, curious to see if anything else is happening today. Is that smoke by the clinic caused by a cyborg with an exploding laser eye? Sounds like someone else's problem for today. They've got a restaurant to go to.]

This would be a bit more dramatic if you haven't been able to go out in the sun for awhile now.
