DAY 430 — Morning Greeting
Good morning, inmates. Welcome to day 430. We corrected the small error that created the series of inconveniences you may have come across yesterday. Everything is as it should be once again, so thank you once more for your patience.

For your viewing pleasure today there is a new exhibit at the museum; Dildos of the Ages. Ranging a variety of decades and encompassing a few multiverses, it's quite a diverse display of sex toys commonly used by human and other races alike. If you feel inspired by any sights seen, we encourage you to peruse the newly taken over establishment belonging to one Captain Jack Harkness for a variety of objects that you can in fact take home with you. Sort of like a gift shop of sorts.

Felicity Smoak and Spike, your requests have been fulfilled. Pick up is at the kiosk for Ms. Smoak.

[And here's your jaunty tune of the day.]

[He struggles with how best to try and tackle the explanation of the biological differences at play.]

Fun is... not foreign to my understanding, but also something that doesn't quite exist the same way for me as it does for lifeforms closer to your composition. I don't know how to answer that exactly. I don't have leisurely activities or hobbies, but I suppose...

I suppose you as a collective are what I monitor and am involved in as a leisure activity outside of my usual work and life. [You are his 'fun'. In the less ominous, more curious kind of way.]

[His explanation causes something to dawn on her. There's something about it, about them being his source of fun that makes her question his fundamental makeup as a person.]

I don't mean to sound rude, but are you inorganic?

[Was he part of the computer - or, whatever world that he called home, internally?]

[He takes pause at that, contemplating a response - it's hard to put something in to words that can explain the scope of the situation to a being like her. He also finds it interesting, really, that she'd ask. The differences between their species really are this stark, aren't they. It's something he'll examine later, in further depth.]

No, I'm - just of a different species. Mary and I attempt to emphasize that in being such we have developed far past humans in a variety of ways. And even then, the two of us differ from one another. I can't go in to detail about myself much past that as I need to maintain as much anonymity as possible in relation to this project, but think of it on a smaller scale such as examining the different species on Earth.

You look at ladybugs as a simpler form of life much like we look at you. It's not with inherent superiority that you may look at these simpler species, as you may find the beauty in their existence as a living creature wondrous. [...] Some may harm and destroy a small buzzing guest while others cup their hands around them - be that they are a fly, a moth, or some other creature, and choose to instead set it free. Like we are trying with you all.

So basically you're saying we're your sea monkeys. Somehow that's both insulting and kinda cute.

But what about if we wanted to know about you? I know you said you couldn't get into detail about yourself, but what about your species in general? What if your sea monkies wanted to learn about you? Is that allowed?

I really wish I could be more upfront, but presently I can't. The more information I leak about myself, my species or my life outside of this dome's simulation is more information that can potentially be used against us and f I'm identified as the inside source it wouldn't be pleasant. For myself or any of you.

[...] But I do hope to be able to share more once things are more secure, and certain.

And there's nothing we can do to help? Aside from, you know, feeling more then a little useless.

I guess I'm just not good at sitting around.

No, though I apologize for the frustration of the situation.

I hope that within the dome you can find something to funnel energy into instead, perhaps a project of some sort? Involvements in groups here have had some general success, perhaps that's an avenue to explore. But thank you for your offered aid, nonetheless. We have this, covered for now.

Most of how I funnel my excess energy is by hacking into places people don't want me.

[A small smirk crosses her face since she knows he wouldn't agree to that.]

Not exactly a useful thing here, right.

Mm, no, I couldn't say so. [Slightly amused though, however.]

I'm sure you'll find something, Ms. Smoak. Now, will that be all?

No, though I might poke you again sometime. Just to talk.

[Contrary to previous conversations he's actually pretty nice to talk to.]

I don't see issue with that. Have a lovely day, Ms. Smoak.
