Hello, people of Marina. I hope this finds you well, assuming this is a recording and not a live communication channel. I guess I'll find out in a second or two if anyone is watching.

[He's defaulting to a slightly more professional way of composing his speech, trying to be as clear as possible as he would in any board meaning or in front of his students back in the 50s. Just going for efficiency. Plus it helps mask his panic.]

I'm Ray. Ray Palmer. And I'm looking for my friends. Sara, Nate, Mick, Amaya, Martin and Jackson. Has anyone seen them? Heard those names? I mean of course I am leaving out specific details such as appearance, surnames, distinguishing characteristics, I'm assuming if they're here they'd receive this message and find me.

Otherwise I think I'm going to need more information about this place. Hopefully I can assist with an escape plan? There's one of those, right?

Ray stays in Sector one for a while, processing everything that had happened. He'd been here almost immediately after he and the Legends crash landed in L.A. due to a time storm. Sure enough that was listed as one of his crimes. Others remarked on his using underhanded tactics to acquire Queen Consolidated, and his being regarded as a criminal by the Time Masters. Even the time he nearly blew up the chem lab in his undergrad, it was all stacked against him as supposed crimes. Alien law, he supposed, was maybe a little less nuanced than even the flawed justice system of western society. At east there you were innocent until proven guilty.

Here he didn't even get a trial.

He moved on to sector two, finding a clothing store and opting to change before continuing on to explore the city.

	Which I never thanked you for by the way. Oliver forced me to be his secretary; which, aside from being insanely sexist on his part, was a gross insult to the fact that I'm the best hacker alive. 	That, a couple counts of larceny, bombing a building which arguably I did, but it was empty and it was one of Oliver's holdings. A ton of hacking ... Like, I mean over half the list was different types of hacking. The last one I don't really get. It says I bombed a city. 	We sort of went back in time and interacted with our past selves. Let's just say it had results we didn't foresee. And ended up crashing the Waverider, that's our time ship, in LA. With Dinosaurs. 	We could try that arrangement. I guess my only stipulation is that we don't live far apart. I guess that does sound a little strange, and I keep having to remind myself that I have to start over. 'A little strange' is an understatement.

[She looks down at her hands, frowning. It's all so weird when he starts talking about things like living together and, well, acting like she's so important to him. There's a level of intimacy from him that she can't quite downshift to having a reason to be there.]

The Ray Palmer I knew yesterday didn't, look at me the way you do. It's kind of disorienting.

[He is not sure what to say to that. There are so many feelings right now, he isn't even sure he realized the implications of what he was saying. He did look at her differently. It was a mix of regret and loneliness, but also he just didn't want to be here alone either.]

Part of it, Felicity, is that I've lived in close quarters with my team for two years. It would feel weird not to live with someone.

But I won't force you to live with me. I just want to be able to, I guess, spend time with you.

[She gets that, but she also gets that there's something deeper to it. Just from the time that they were sitting here she could feel the difference. There's a way of sitting just a little too close, hands lingering a little longer then they would a veritable stranger. Looks that you're not supposed to notice. They were close. Really close. Something between now and then had drastically changed in their relationship and she couldn't figure out what it was. She doubted it had anything to do with him finding out about her night job.

There was something deeper; something had happened between the two of them that had drawn them closer to each other. Except it hadn't happened yet, and Felicity was used to being alone. In fact she'd turned down one of the most prestigious jobs in Central City because she preferred it that way. Living with people, relying on them to exist just didn't work for her. Even when it came to the team. Even there she more of less worked alone.

Now she was sitting next to a man who, less then 24 hours ago could arguably look at her emotional distraught state with a detached concern, who now, clearly couldn't. A man who had a strong and overwhelming emotional attachment to her and she couldn't place why he had it. He'd said she saved his life, but honestly, she'd do that for anyone. That didn't explain anything.

She turns to look at him again. Her lower lip separating from her top as she tries to articulate the words. It's hard, but she tries to start anyway.]

That's not it ...

[She frowns, pressing her lips tight together.]

I don't know how to explain it, but it's not that.

I guess I can't expect things to just fall into normalcy. That's what I want, something to ground things for me.

To be fair, that quip about trying out a system where I burst in unannounced was more of a joke. I mean I am aware I did that. Probably more times than responsible.

Would you be alright with neighbors? Down the hall, kiddie corner? There's a chance I need some time to cope.
