[ At some point, he fell asleep, warm and comfortable and safe in a couch fort with Ianto pressed against his side. He slept and then he woke up and nothing was warm or comfortable or safe anymore. Sitting up with a start, as if from a nightmare, Spike scrambles out of the couch half prepared to find himself in a blood bath again. ]

[Ianto hadn't expected to get much sleep last night either but he eventually drifted off as well only to be woken up abruptly as Spike jerks awake. He sits up, blinking fuzzily as yesterday all comes back. He doesn't know what he expected to happen today, but surely the fact that he's alright and that there's no blood to be seen is a good sign.]

It's alright, you didn't hurt anyone. I would have woken up if you'd left last night.

	Right. [ He doesn't say if you would've woken up but he sure is thinking it and while he's not as panicked as he was yesterday, he can still feel it chewing at his frayed edges. ] Any news? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	[They're both thinking it, even if Ianto is trying pretend he isn't. He hasn't once been worried Spike will attack him in all of this but they both know he should be.] Doesn't look like it. [He doesn't pick up as fast as one might expect. He went through the whole of yesterday answering his calls only to find no-one able to see or hear him and in the end he stopped expecting anyone to be able to see or hear him, even if he was right there in the room with them.

So it's half a minute before he bothers to fumble on the bedside table for his headset and accepts the call. He's not quite awake enough yet to work out that this is a new day and hopefully yesterday's affliction will have righted itself, so his greeting is decidedly weary and long-suffering.]

Yeah?

[His heart leaps as Jack answers the call and it's so unexpected and shocking and more than he dared hope for that he's momentarily speechless. That tone isn't a good sign but it's hardly the focus just now. What's more important is that physically at least he appears to be alright. He doesn't let go of Spike though, because there's still the very real possibilty he's the reason they couldn't find Jack yesterday.]

Are you alright? Where are you? What happened?

	What do you mean? [A puzzled frown because of all the answers he expected to get that wasn't one of them. In fact it makes no sense at all. [Ianto has no doubt he looks as shocked as he feels while he starts to process all this. Whatever was going on yesterday is starting to sound more and more like another one of the warden's tricks and less like something is actually wron with Spike. He glances at him to make sure he's hearing all this then realizes it's absurd to be having this conversation over the communicator when they're all in the same building. As much as he wants to make sure Jack is alright he can't even imagine how Spike must be feeling right now.]

Stay where you are, we'll be up there in a moment. Don't disappear again, alright?

	[ He's hearing most of it, partially because wow is he ever taken aback by a wash of relief but also practically sharing a communicator is less than ideal. [That stunned look on his face makes him want to gather him up in his arms and just hold him until he can start to process this but he thinks seeing Jack in person will probably be more beneficial in the long run. He does wrap an arm around his waist and tuck him against his side as they leave the apartment behind and head upstairs. His hand is actually shaking as he opens the door and steps inside, like he's worried this might be the dream, not yesterday.]

[As nervous as he is Ianto seems to be handling this the best out of the three of them. He isn't coping with the shock of being invisible for a day and despite the circumstances he's used to Jack being dead and the idea of him coming back to life was never in doubt. So it's with a small but very relieved smile that he gently shoves Spike into Jack's arms.]

I'm glad you're alright.

[A ghost is pretty much what he felt like all yesterday (rather ironic - unsettling - considering how his two lovers thought he actually was dead) but Spike's reaction to seeing him does a lot towards setting that right. He even chuckles when Ianto shoves Spike into his arms, and he closes those arms warmly around Spike's stiff, shocked body.]

I'm fine. [Smiling at Ianto over Spike's shoulder.] I'm so sorry you both had to go through all that yesterday. I was there - right there, the whole time, but neither of you could see me.

[ He doesn't protest to the shoving and hugging, though there's definitely some reluctance running through all this. It's a strange position to be in, seeing as the other two seem so calm about all this but it shook him to the core and he has a lot to think about going forward.

[It's obvious Spike is still very much not alright and even if he isn't in the mood for hugging Ianto is still going to stay close. The idea that seeing Jack alright would help seems like a bit too much to hope for now, but it's understandable. What they all went through yesterday was horrifying but he knows Spike, and knows he likely won't just let this go. The fact that he's the literal definition of a monster must still be weighing on him along with the knowledge that just because he didn't hurt anyone this time doesn't mean he won't in the future.]

We've all put up with our share from the wardens but that was cruel of them.

It was incredibly cruel. [Lips pressed tight as he remembers Spike's face yesterday, not that today is much of an improvement so far.]

[ But I could've is what he wants to say but he knows by now that it's not an argument that'll be listened to. If it was just this he'd probably be able to shake it, but he also has a vague memory of something like this happening in the future. That makes it so much harder to shake.

Not that he says any of this. That's not how he works. Instead he just nods in agreement, showing that he's understood even if he doesn't agree. ]
