Day 422 - Action - Open
[It was dark, silence broken only by the sound of footsteps echoing down the corridor outside. This… this couldn’t right. There was no way this could be right. This part of his life was over.

Finally, a door opened] 117-9875, get up

[This wasn’t right! But as Shiro attempted get out of the flashback he was seeing… it never came. He was still staring at the Galra drone standing in the door no matter how hard he tried. The sounds around him were of the Galra prison and even the clothes he wore were the same as the prison.

And with absolutely nothing to ground him, Shiro lost himself. He was right back there]

On your feet. It’s your turn to fight again.

Not this time!

[As he leapt to his feet, the drone tried to shoot at him. He managed to avoid it, his hand activated and he attacked the drone, going passed it and out into the hall. There were more Galra drones there, all ready to shoot.

He had no option at this point. If he lost, he’d be as good as dead or would wish he was. He had to make it out]

[ooc: Shiro is quite literally armed and dangerous. He’ll most likely see someone as a threat. His hand generates high energy emission for attacks. Let me know if you want the hand to be active if your character wants to fight Shiro – can have actually be active or he can just think it is]

	[Okay, okay. Keith knew that. He was just more worried about other things. He had a surprisingly high pain tolerance, and would ignore his own well-being if given the chance. [Shiro honestly didn't blame Nico for not trusting him around Keith. He had just attacked him, cutting his arm open. He didn't really trust himself at the moment. The moment when he had another episode felt like it could be around the corner and he didn't want to lash out at Keith again]

I'll come with you.

[Nico was the one doing it. He'd stay back, both to keep Nico from feeling like he had to intervene and to have someone else there with Keith since he wasn't sure if Keith trusted him at the moment either]

[Keith didn't argue... reluctantly letting them take him to the hospital. He was actually glad Shiro wanted to come. He knew that he had to be feeling really guilty right now, but Keith didn't want him to be alone, either. And this sudden protective side of Nico that Keith hadn't really known about, yet, was... well, it was kind of nice. It did make him miss the rest of the team a little, but it was good to know he had someone here to watch his back if he needed it.

As they walked, Keith could feel his adrenaline wearing off, the fight-or-flight response fading, and, of course, as a result, the rest of those aches and pains kicking in. His arm was the only major injury, but he definitely felt like he was going to be pretty bruised up after this. Shiro hadn't exactly been pulling his punches.]

	[Nico frowned at Shiro, but nodded and led the way. Though the threat seemed to have passed, he stayed on the defensive. The sword was returned to his belt, but he kept it loose and ready. His grip on his weapon drops as soon as they hospital is in sight.] (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[Shiro spotted that look on Nico's face. He really didn't trust him. It was a strange feeling when so many of teens had looked up to him at different points in his life, including the four younger Paladins. Not that Nico had anything else to go on other seeing what he had, but still felt odd.

Shiro walked quietly with them. He could see that Nico stayed tense, in case he had to grab that sword again, only relaxing once they neared the clinic. Shiro made no motion to head inside, content to just stand outside]

[The tension was thick and Keith hated it. This was not how he would have wanted Nico and Shiro to meet. He chewed on his lip, completely uncertain on how to diffuse this, but trying to think of something. Nothing came to him before they reached the hospital.

He mentally sighed, but paused when Shiro stopped just short of coming in. He glanced back for just a moment, but didn't want to push Shiro any further at the moment. He looked over at Nico instead to see if he was coming in before heading inside.]

[Awkward, tense situations were like, Nico's calling card. He didn't like it, but what are you going to do? Walk silently to the hospital, that's what.

And yeah, he was going in, at least as long as it took for Keith to get settled and to make sure he was okay with the whole bot set up. (Nico wasn't thrilled with it the first time he needed the hospital. Still wasn't, which was why he sought out Ton before anything else.)]

	[It was that glance from Keith as though wondering why Shiro wouldn't come in that made him ventured maybe a few steps inside, but no more. He was already unstable enough and he knew the set up of hospitals. Given how close he felt to slipping again, he couldn't go too far in. So he shared Nico's aversion to the hospital, but for probably a different reason] (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[Whatever Shiro was comfortable with at this point was fine. Keith didn't want to make him any worse. He didn't know that Nico was uncomfortable, but then they met the bots. Keith wasn't too freaked out by them, because he was now used to the advanced technology in Allura's castle, but he was wary because he didn't know these particular bots.

Still, things went fairly smoothly.

As they moved to take him to one of the treatment rooms, he looked back at Nico.]

Thanks. I'll be okay from here if you're uncomfortable.

	[Nico nodded. There wasn't anything else he could do here, and the bots wouldn't allow for disturbances.] Call me if you need anything. I can be here in a matter of seconds. 	[Keith really hadn't expected that from anyone outside his team, but he nodded as Nico headed out.] Yeah. Thanks. [Keith also gave Shiro a small nod, understanding why he wouldn't come in... or, at least, he thought he did. Whether his understanding was the same as the actual reason was up for grabs.
